I hope you all had a great weekend! April and May is what I affectionately/stressfully call 'birthday season'. It seems like every other person in my life is a Taurus... my hubby, a bunch of my best friends, a couple cousins, my mom-in-law, even ME.... ahhh! Wish me luck as I try to fit all the fun in and stay caught up on work. It's always a crazy juggle, but so fun :) Any other Tauruses out there? Apparently we should be friends :)

Anyway... just check out these cutie little guys I got to photograph recently. I mean, really? I'm in love with them!

When I first started my photography business I don't think I quite realized how amazing it would be see two people in love go from engaged to married and all the way to parenthood. I've been so so lucky to witness such life changing events and love the relationships gained from being a part of them.

I first met Char'lee and JV at a Starbucks in 2010. Back then we were just focused on their engagement photos. Who'd have thought that three years later I'd be photographing their daughter. Time flies!

Here's a little peak of the last few years:

Fast forward to now. Char'lee and JV just welcomed their little girl, Mackenzie into the world. She's nothing short of perfect... a perfect blend of both of them. I just wanted to squeeze her little cheeks! We started the day with sister photos :) Hershey is so good with Mackenzie...

I just love the headbands Char'lee found on Etsy! They're made by Little Hip Squeaks.

She's such a pretty little lady:

This photo makes me smile extra big... it looks like Mackenzie is doing Zoolander's Blue Steel :)

Hershey didn't want to pose with everyone else... she had to be front and center :)

And last, but not least, Char'lee and Mackenzie. Char'lee, you are absolutely beautiful. You're going to be an amazing Mother, I'm so excited to see you and JV raise your little girl throughout the years. Thanks for being such amazing clients and letting me photograph all your best moments :)

Where do I even start with these two? I loved this whole day... which is saying a lot because shooting a wedding with a sprained ankle is no joke. They are just that amazing. Thoughtful, genuine, fun, and easy on the eyes... that's Joe and Tiffany :)

The day started with a traditional Vietnamese Tea Ceremony. Tiffany was so beautiful in her red dress:

After the tea ceremony Tiffany changed into her white dress...

Tiffany's mom made the jewelry. I love little personal touches like that :)

Gloves!!! My favorite part of Tiffany's outfit.

My lovely assistant captured these photos of Joe getting ready:

The ceremony was in a beautiful old church...

Husband and wife!!!

Tiffany and Joe are both architects that chose this church because of the beautiful main entrance... I loved all the crazy shadows!

Before the reception Tiffany and Joe scheduled a little time to be alone with one another at a nearby park. Of course I had to sneak a couple shots in...

The ceremony details were all DIY and filled with fun little touches like vases made from wine bottles and cork coasters for favors.

Their first dance song is one of my favorites. Be sure to click the slideshow below to hear it... it's the 3rd song :)

Outdoor receptions = amazing light!

I love when a bride and groom actually dance with each other at the reception :)

From their fun little decor touches to their quirky, heartfelt ceremony I loved every minute of the wedding and I feel safe in saying their guests did too. It's weddings like this that make me feel lucky to have the job that I do :)

The day started as most do with all the VIP's helping the bride and groom get ready. Meg's dress was sooo pretty! I love all the soft layers...

Meg was so calm and collected...

Their suite at the Brea Embassy Suites had the most beautiful windows... I could have shot in front of them all day.

One of my favorites of the day:

The guys have it so easy... they're dressed in all of 15 minutes!

I'm amazed I got such a serious photo out of these funny guys...

Spring is such a beautiful time to get married... the light and the colors are perfect:

Bret was all smiles, I loved it!

Since Bret and Meg decided to keep to the tradition of seeing each other for the first time at the ceremony, we did their romantic photos during cocktail hour... this next one is another of my favorites. The late afternoon light was amazing.

Paul, from Boffo Video, brought along this ampersand and was kind enough to let me snag it for a shot...

First dance!

The dance party was definitely fun :)

And lastly, the rings! I'm loving all the intricate detail on Meg's rings... great for fun light :)

This family photo shoot was in an amazing Mid Century Modern house in Hollywood. I seriously could have shot in there all day... the light, landscaping, and architecture were so inspiring!

And then there was Baron... he is one cute kid:

Dad uses this house as an office and gallery for his art collection... Baron likes to use it for climbing :)

His crawling 'style' is pretty cute :)

You can't see her, but Grandma was putting on quite a show for Baron behind me...

Omigosh, he is just perfect :)

Baron's outfits were beyond adorable... mom did a great job picking them out.

One of my favorites of the day... don't know why exactly. Maybe it's the simple lines and textures.

He had so much fun pounding on the keyboard here... I hope he didn't break it!

Give me a white wall and some window side light and I'm a happy camper... add a cute kid and I'm in heaven!

To end the session Baron got to dig into his very own cake... he was a bit put off at the beginning, but Mom showed him what to do...

... but 2 seconds later he was over it! I love his pouty face!

It was cold, but even that lent to the perfectness of it all (pardon my made-up words). Close friends and family huddled close as they listened to the sweet vows and watched Mark and Vicky's first kiss. I'm very happy to have been there to see it all :)

The details were beyond beautiful. They really outdid themselves with all these DIY projects:

Nick and Jen did an amazing job keeping everyone (as well as each other) smiling with little surprises, amazing food, and great music. I couldn't have asked for a better end to my wedding season :)

Jen is a hairstylist so her hair was nothing short of perfect. I especially love the blue streaks :)

I must be getting old... I'd never heard of 'icing' someone before :) Apparently because Nick found a Smirnoff Ice attached to Jen's leg he had to down it immediately. He took it like a champ!
